frei0r-plugins software package provides minimalistic plugin API for video effects, plugins collection, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install frei0r-plugins
frei0r-plugins is installed in your system.
Make ensure the frei0r-plugins package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep frei0r-plugins *
You will get with frei0r-plugins package name, version, architecture and description in a table
